Hi, I'm a triplet mom and would love some added motivation to read. One of my favorite books is a fiction based story based in post WWI Spain. It deals with the relationship of a father who owns a bookstore raising his son alone (mother died shortly after birth), and a mystery involving a book, an author, a fire, a rich family, a true love story, ect, ect. It's really good. The title is: "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruis Zafron. Thanks for taking the initative to get this started. ~Elizabeth
At work I was given the book "Water for Elephants" and I was told it was a very good book. I have not started reading it yet but I thought that this might be a good book for us to read. *At the beginning of Water for Elephants, he is living out his days in a nursing home, hating every second of it. His life wasn't always like this, however, because Jacob ran away and joined the circus when he was twenty-one. Water for Elephants is the story of Jacob's life with this circus.
The Shadow of the Wind sounds great. I haven't read it. I have read Water for Elephants but am willing to read it again. I thought it was quite enjoyable. Other favorites I would be willing to reread are- Memories Keepers Daughter, The PoisonWood Bible, and I Know This Much Is True.
Water for Elephants sounds interesting. It also might be beneficial to go to www.barnesandnoble.com to see what new fiction and non-fiction books they're recommending - that's where I find most of the strange but fascinating books!
My cousin suggested the "Twilight Series" that includes Twilight, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and one more book that I can't remember. The books are on the best-seller list.
